What's new?
- Legislation is moving through the Colorado House this week that would reverse Boulder's minimum wage increase for tipped workers. Learn more here.
- Imagination is crucial in challenging times. Engaging in future-oriented activities like the Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan (BVCP) update can help.
This week at City Council
This week the Council will consider updating the city's building, fire and property maintenance codes. This may lower insurance premium increases and reduce the number of insurers pulling out of Boulder's market due to high wildfire risk.
The Council will also return to December's Form Based Code discussion, to facilitate future redevelopment aligned to the East Boulder Subcommunity Plan.
Get engaged
The Folsom Street Safety Improvements Virtual Open House ends February 19, and staff will be at the main library on February 20 for BVCP update office hours.
Community Kudos
Boulder Fire-Rescue is hosting free Hands-Only CPR training, CU Boulder opened the Balch Fieldhouse tennis courts to the public, and the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety finished the Marshall Mesa coal seam mitigation.

What I'm reading/listening to
Organizer Kelly Hayes offers advice on how to manage feelings of overwhelm amidst the chaos:
To work in opposition to the violent, dehumanizing politics being thrust upon us, we must adopt a political posture that centers our shared humanity and regard for one another.
